Nabila Nawar Binti
PHD STUDENT (BMCB)
Nabila is a second year PhD student in the BMCB field. She completed her Bachelor and Master of Science in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh where she went on to work as a faculty before moving to the US for her PhD. Her research currently focuses on rotavirus and norovirus infection and she is particularly interested in factors such as maternal antibody, environmental enteric dysfunction and gut microbiome that underlie failure to oral vaccines in infants from low middle-income countries.
Expertise: Molecular Biology, Immunology, Virology (ELISA, Flow Cytometry, qPCR, retro-orbital injection, fluorescent focus assay, Western Blot)
Outside of the lab… she is a mom to a toddler and in her spare time, likes reading fantasy and romance books.
