• Sarah Caddy

    GROUP LEADER

    Sarah is an Assistant Professor, veterinarian and viral immunologist. Sarah trained as a vet at the University of Cambridge, UK, and after a few years in practice did her PhD at Imperial College London. Following a post-doc at the MRC-Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge she moved to start her lab at Cornell in 2022.

  • Tawny Chandler, PhD

    Tawny is a senior post-doc who completed her PhD at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She was then a USDA-NIFA postdoctoral fellow in Department of Population Medicine & Diagnostic Sciences, Cornell, before joining the Caddy Lab in 2023.

  • Sarah Woodyear

    GRADUATE STUDENT (MICROBIOLOGY)

    Sarah has a Masters from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) in Medical Microbiology. She then spent a year working as a research assistant at The Pirbright Institute, UK prior to moving across the Atlantic to get the Caddy Lab started!

  • Tom Lonergan

    Tom completed his bachelor's in Communications from Rowan University in south New Jersey. Two years ago, he moved to Ithaca after being offered a Lab Animal Tech position at Cornell working with sled dogs. He enjoys painting, going to the gym, eating yummy food, and making people laugh!

  • Serena Teh

    GRADUATE STUDENT (BMCB)

    Serena is a first year student in the BMCB program. She was a lab technician at the SUNY Buffalo before moving to Ithaca. Outside of the lab, Serena likes playing the flute and caring for her pets, which are all named after legumes

  • Nabila Nawar Binti

    GRADUATE STUDENT (BMCB)

    Nabila is our newest graduate student who officially joined us in Spring 2025. She was an assistant professor at the University of Dhaka before coming to Cornell. Outside of the lab, Nabila is a mom of a toddler and loves reading fantasy and romance books

  • Valerie Chen

    UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCHER

    Valerie is a sophomore majoring in animal science on the pre-vet track. She hopes to open her own clinic in the future to provide high quality vet-care for all the animals in need. In her free time, Valerie enjoys cooking, trying out new food, traveling to different countries, and watching Netflix.

  • Yael Spector

    UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCHER

    Yael is a sophomore studying Human Biology Health & Society on a pre-med track. She loves being an EMT! In her free time, she enjoys hiking, running, or making her favorite avocado toast.

  • Louis Rivera

    UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCHER

    Louis is a junior majoring in biology on the pre-med track. He is particularly interested in evidence-based preventive care. On the side, he enjoys running, fencing, gaming, and working as an EMT.

  • Clare Wang

    ROTATING GRADUATE STUDENT (BBS)

    Clare is a second year combined DVM-PhD student with a B.S. in Molecular Environmental Biology from UC Berkeley. She is rotating in the Caddy lab, where her interests in immunology and One Health intersect. She is also a student technician at Cornell's wildlife hospital and enjoys birdwatching in her free time.

  • Barry

    Barry the awesome Husky is a big brother to baby Nora. Here he is joining in a lab pool party at his home. His favorite snack is popcorn, and his favorite part of the day is when a siren goes by so he can start a howl.

  • Meatball

    Meatball (aka Steel), is a St. Bernard mix who loves sleeping, eating, and giving attitude. Even though he is an older and slower guy, he aspires to one day catch a bunny!

  • A good boy

    Milo

    Milo is a retired teaching beagle from Cornell Vet School. He is learning the ins and outs of being a dog!

  • Alfie

    Alfie (Alfalfa) is a guinea pig, who likes pets and head scratches. He also enjoys snacking on hay, and shoving his litter tray.

  • Flapjack and Dumpling

    Named by Sarah’s kids, these two little pigs are becoming bolder by the day. Their favorite food is cucumber. They are very good at squeaking when they hear the fridge door open.

  • Clover

    Clover likes to run a lot, bark at the mailman, and sit on people's laps. Although she is very anxious, she certainly likes to make her presence known.

  • Cooper

    Cooper is Clover's younger brother and likes to attempt to dig holes in the sofa. He gets car sick, but still always wants to go for rides.

  • Apollo

    Apollo has to put up with Clover and Cooper, but still has a soft side. He is independent and tends to do as he pleases.
